Dear Robert Parson aka Bob Parson, please come back!!!

Since the update GoDaddy Auctions made to their domain names listings on their auctions page, I’ve spend less time on their site searching for expired domain names.
I’ve mentioned over and over how important GD Auctions is to our community. Majority of us buy and sell domain names that are worth no more than $10-$100 dollars. We buy Reg Fee domain names for most part due to the fact that we can’t afford to make larger investments.
The worst thing that could possibly happen to a Domainer who relies on GoDaddy Auctions has occurred and the people responsible are out of touch with reality. I emailed GoDaddy Executives directly and requested an explanation to why they removed the most important instant Domaining tool on their page “Advance Search Tool”.
Took them 7 days to reply back to tell me in one short paragraph that their customers are happy and so are we! Customers? The last I checked, Domainers purchase a lot of domain names from your company and not a single intelligent, experienced, smart Domainer is happy with your new changes. The use of multi-tasking and multi-searching for domain names is not an instant option anymore!
I should not have to leave the page or reload settings, or apply more changes on a new page to search for expired domain names. The user-friendly advanced search tool is not accessible instantly! I use to spend an average of 40-75 minutes daily on GoDaddy Auctions searching for expired domain names using my pre-defined saved search settings to load up my daily list of expired domain names. I use to also make secondary instant changes to the pre-defined search list based on keywords, age, extensions, etc. I shouldn’t have to reload the page, click on a link for a pop up window to display the Advanced Search Tool. This new update is time consuming and not good for business in my opinion; I went from 40+ minutes of activity searching for domain names to 20 minutes or less now! I spend less time searching for domain names because I can’t apply secondary changes to the Advanced Search Tool instantly. I don’t have the time to wait for a page to load up 50 times every time I want to apply a new change to my search.
I’m spending less time on GoDaddy and anyone with corporate smarts will tell you that’s not good for business!
Dear President of GoDaddy Auctions can you please explain to the world and to our community how you figure the new changes are praised by your customers? In your email you didn’t have the courtesy to explain in detail why you turned the clock backwards on all of us. Don’t you understand the importance of being able to instantly access and make changes to the Advanced Search Tool? Doesn’t anyone in your department buy domain names like the rest of us? Do you not understand why it’s important to have your Advanced Search Tool available on all pages without having to click on a thousand links to access it? Do I need to remind your people that simplicity goes further in life and business?
Dear Robert Parson aka Bob Parson, whats happening to GoDaddy? Since you sold your site, the company has made some bizarre changes. From a facelift to a sex change to turning the clock back on Advanced Domain Name Searching, GoDaddy is heading in the wrong direction!
Whoever is on top of the food chain at GoDaddy Auctions needs to reverse the damage. Either bring back the Instant Advanced Search Tool or lose customers/revenue. It’s that simple!
Until my next Domaining Article, Happy Domaining!

GoDaddy has placed UX pretty low on their totem pole. There is a bright side, though: Since names are harder to find, fewer people will find them. If you are willing to put in the effort, this should help lower prices a bit.

@ Josh
Effort doesn’t cut it when your hands are denied access to a tool that has delivered quality advanced search results. To take that away from your customers and turn it into a pop up window for every minor change is silly and unproductive.

Godaddy is a profit machine now, when the pioneers sell out, and the suits come in, it becomes all about profits, game over.

I use TDNAM’s advanced search tool every day. I don’t see what you see. It does not slow me down at all, but I think the new design sucks compared to before and it is not as clean an experience. I also have a lot of custom searches and do look at the domains many different ways.
I scour TDNAM about four to six hours a day, seven days a week and have not missed a single day since 2005, so I am definitely a pro-user, and I did let them know I was not happy with the redesign, but I don’t think they are listening like they used to in the old days.
One thing that really annoys me is when you log into GoDaddy now you are still on the GoDaddy landing page. Why the f*ck would I want to be there? Why does it not log me into the Domain Manager page. Freakin’ annoying.
There is a whole lot I hate about GoDaddy and TDNAM, but if you are serious about this biz you almost have no choice but to deal with them to some degree.

They have implemented some changes I suggested in the past. Maybe it’s time I write them a few new suggestions.

@ 1808
I changed it to resolve the issue, but none of them work well.

Yo! Where were you in 2008 and even before and beyond. I’ve been pointing out a lack of “desire” by Go Daddy to cater to domainers ever since –well… they rarely involve themselves in TRAFFIC, DOMAINFEST, DRT or other fine domain events over the last decade. It’s expensive for Parsons to hire those bodyguards
I’ve moved almost every domain I had had GD (about 1000) out and to Moniker or Fabulous in the last seven years. And I just don’t like the objectification of talented women in a man’s world (Danica Patrick – Autoracing) and reducing her to a dippy shower scene. All this to sell Go Daddy domains and services? come on…

Oops, sorry, here’s one of the links. You can see some funny stories on my blog over the years about Go Daddy— starting here: http://www.successclick.com/can-godaddy-really-be-the-choice-of-domainers_2008_11_19/

Thanks for dropping by
Majority of End Users prefer or use GoDaddy – it makes the exchange of sold domain names easier!
